Love

What does the little but deep word of love mean? Is it always saying it, flowers and outpouring of affection?

I never believed the journey love can take you on. From first love, zelust, tactile and wanting every moment together. Then the irritation of getting used to each others and running along to see if there is a groove for you both to be in.

If the glove fits, you find a way to move forward together as one. Like a honeysuckle entwining its self together each strand along weak but together forming a unique ever growing and changing partnership. Sharing memories, building a future and creating a family of your own.

The changing roles from partners to parents, little time for each other. Stresses and challenges of being united, as babies become children. Then like silky calm water of a millpond you begin to find time for each other again.

Time ... time to look forward again, share secrets with the sole mate and best friend that they have become. Time to be both a couple as well as a family. Thinking about each other and the little touches to show you still care.

If that is what love is, then I have to say I have it. It has changed through time and isn't always as obvious anymore. It has become a thread in life a feeling and an existence in its own right.
