Walk of sounds

After frozen rain engulfed Shropshire last night, it was not an option to use the car for the school run.

So a cautious adventure of walking on the grass as footpaths were too icy began. "It's like crisps mummy" my youngest son said. So I listened and he was right. As we crunched our way along the grass it did sound like breaking crisps.

As we neared the woods, trees and long grass were welded in place. Kicking the grass it smashed into a thousand pieces. A gentle breeze caught the trees and a creepy sound whistled surrounding us. "Stop and listen" I said. The children were amazed by the noise and then began to make their own noise by moving branches.

We made our way past the paddocks and finally to school. A sea of families walking to school met us at the back gate, all sharing our idea that cars were not the best transport today.
